Types of Collision Detection Systems

We have a variety of collision detection equipment to choose from. This way, you’ll be able to pick the system that’s right for your setup. Here are the general types of detection systems you can find at Briggs Equipment.

  • Forklift-mounted collision detection: Fastened directly to the forklift, these can face forward and/or backward. This sensor will light up when it detects something in the range of the forklift. As it moves closer, the light will blink and then an audible alarm will sound. Connects to the forklift’s power source–no need to charge this device.
  • Automatic braking system: A sensor at the front of the vehicle will detect an impending obstacle and activate the braking system.
  • Lane departure warning system: Sensors on the sides of the forklifts monitor if the vehicle is about to leave the lane and alert the operator.
  • Pedestrian alert system: A combination of sensors will monitor the surrounding area for human movement and alert the driver.

Whether you’re looking for one piece of technology or outfitting your entire fleet with sensors, we can find you the right solutions. Call your local Briggs today.
