About JLG

JLG was founded in 1969 by John L. Grove in McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania, USA. Grove, an ambitious and visionary entrepreneur, initially started the company as a small operation focused on producing hydraulic lifts for the construction industry. However, his passion for engineering and commitment to quality quickly propelled JLG to success.

In the 1970s, JLG introduced several groundbreaking products, including the first boom lift, which revolutionized the way workers accessed heights in construction and maintenance tasks. The company continued to expand its product line with the introduction of scissor lifts and vertical mast lifts, catering to a wide range of customer needs.

As JLG gained prominence, it ventured into international markets, establishing subsidiaries and manufacturing facilities worldwide. The company’s commitment to innovation led to the development of advanced technologies such as the SkyPower® system, which introduced hybrid power solutions to the industry, enhancing efficiency and reducing environmental impact.

JLG’s success continued into the 21st century, with strategic acquisitions and partnerships further strengthening its position. In 2006, JLG was acquired by Oshkosh Corporation, a global leader in specialty vehicles and truck manufacturing. This union provided JLG with access to additional resources and a broader market reach.

Over the years, JLG has diversified its product portfolio to include telehandlers and other innovative pieces of equipment. The company’s commitment to safety, quality, and technological advancement has made JLG a trusted name in the industry, with its equipment used in projects worldwide.

Today, JLG remains at the forefront of the equipment manufacturing industry, continually innovating to meet the evolving needs of its customers. With a proud history of engineering excellence, the company continues to shape the future of aerial work platforms and telehandlers, empowering workers to reach greater heights in their endeavors.
